Privacy Policy

1. Core Privacy Philosophy
DNSfinder.net is built on a privacy-first foundation. We believe network diagnostics should not track, log, or commercialize the domains, IP addresses, or targets you inspect.
2. What Diagnostic Data is Processed
When you enter a target domain or IP into our tools (DNS, WHOIS/RDAP, Port Scanner, Ping, Traceroute), the target string is transmitted to our stateless backend workers strictly to execute the requested network lookup.
- We do NOT store your diagnostic search history in any persistent database.
- We do NOT associate target domains with user accounts or IP addresses.
- In-memory metrics collect only aggregate counters (e.g. total DNS queries per minute) without recording individual target hostnames.
Contact form: the name, e-mail address and message you submit on our contact page are e-mailed to our support mailbox so that we can reply. They are not stored on this server.
3. Third-Party Data Sources
To fulfill RDAP and IP intelligence requests, our server queries publicly accessible registries (ICANN RDAP bootstrap servers, IANA, and public ASN databases). These external registries receive queries originating from our edge server IP, preserving the confidentiality of your personal client IP address.
One exception: to show both your IPv4 and IPv6 address, the What Is My IP and What Is My ISP pages make your browser ask an IP echo service (icanhazip.com, operated by Cloudflare, or ipify.org) which address it sees. That request goes directly from your browser, so the service sees your IP address the way any website you visit does. Nothing else is sent with it.
4. Visitor Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools are used. Google receives the page you opened, the page you came from, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Tool pages keep the target you look up in the page address so results can be shared. Our analytics setup reports page addresses without that part, so the domains and IP addresses you inspect are not sent to Google Analytics.
- We do not use analytics data for advertising and do not combine it with your lookups.
- Analytics stays off until you accept the cookie prompt, which every visitor is shown.
- You can switch it on or off at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer; every tool works without it.
5. Local Storage & Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_DLZEMGEVMG) to tell visits apart (only after you accept the cookie prompt), a dnsfinder_consent local storage key remembers your cookie choice, and a single dnsfinder_theme local storage key remembers your Dark/Light theme preference. See the Cookie Policy for details.
